I just went for my lunchtime walk. It's sunny outside, there are kids everywhere, and I am so jealous.

happy
Today was a good day; It got better as the day went on. Worship at Church included two of my favorite songs. I enjoyed warm sunshine afterwards and then a tasty Santa Fe sandwhich for lunch. As a change from my usual need to be doing something, I took a little nap and watched some TV (although there wasn't anything exciting on). Then I had a great time playing Battlemasters with Aaron and hung out with him for awhile. He cooked a tasty homemade egg McMuffin, which I'll add to my list of "Great tastiness/time-to-cook ratio meals," which I'll need for my new apartment. And it was nice to talk with people after the evening service. A very restful, and thus successful, Sunday.

Last night was nice: I visited my friends at Behrend and stayed until the early hours of the morning, chatting about all the things that matter most: life and love and happiness. This morning was nice: Matt cooked me an egg and toast. I wonder how today will go.
Later today...
Hiked the gorge. Was very nice. Great weather for it.
Had tasty hash for lunch.
Played some Team Fortress 2 in the evening for the first real time. Was fun.
It seems like all my friends are getting engaged these days. I'm not old yet, am I?

The giant slimy octopus oozes across the beach
Aug. 25th, 2008 | 09:05 pm
Last night I had a dream that a mean, sentient tornado was chasing me. I tried punching it in the face, but that only angered it. It was a very good dream.
Today I went to beach. I was afraid the seaguls would attack. Still, it was very nice.

Today I fell into the typical male gender role archetype. Mowed the lawn. Ran the dishwasher. Took off a tire and a rear compartment to check to see if the shock is the culprit of a mysterious rattling noise. All in my torn jeans and Chucks.
This morning I toured the Waterworks building and gawked at the massive pump they used to use to pump water up from the lake to the reservoir. Also toured the new convention center. Did a VC run in WoW with some Ahrotahntee. Starting picking names for the new network naming scheme. Cleaned off the desk to make room for my new Mac. Drove past the FedEx truck depot where my computer is sitting over the weekend.
Returned my dad's recalled snowblower. Learned the technical term for snowblower is snow thrower.

mood: tinkery
Lately my computer has been crashing when playing a graphically-intense game, causing a high-pitched squeal from the speakers and a blank screened monitor. I figure it might be power or heat related, so I opened up the computer and cleared off the thick layer of dust on my graphics card. It was like a nice little insulating blanket. We'll see if the clean eliminates the problem. Who needs to trick out a car when you've got a computer to tinker with?

"I was going to ask you to play House, but I think you'd be a weird example for our children."
Aug. 7th, 2007 | 09:15 pm
Yesterday I mixed cement for my dad to patch up the broken sidewalk. Today I helped cook dinner and cleaned the kitchen counters. I've been systematically cleaning just about every room in the house. This is likely because (1) I now live in it as opposed to the dorm and (2) Allyn's beautiful house has cursed inspired me. Further bulletins as events warrant.

Starbursts are delicious!
"Eighty million years ago, back in the late Cretaceous, lived the great tyrannosaur, a fearsome and predacious therapod of monstrous size! He weighed six tons or more! He epotomized the concept of the killer carnivore! His jaws had teeth like railroad spikes with fore and aft serrations! This dental hardware was designed for quick eviscerations! With thrashing bites and awful roars the T.Rex would attack! He was, it's clear, a savage mesozoic maniac! Imagin, then, the panic caused, the horror and the mayhem, when this monster came to town and ate some folks this A.M.! It was a sight few will forget! He lunged into the crowd! The multitude became unglued! Their screams were long and loud! People pushed to get away! The elderly and small were trampled underfoot by the advancing human wall! Little Tim was on an errand with his brother howard. They dawdled by the candy shop and both boys were devoured. A camera crew from channel three arrived in town to give a live report. At this they failed, because they didn't live. At last the menace ate his fill. The big tyrannosaur stomped away to parts unknown where he had lived before. Tyrannosaurs, though rarely seen, are certainly still around. And no one knows just where or when the next one will be found. Blow your nose, dear. Achgth! Tck! Nhggrr!"

Year in Review
Dec. 30th, 2006 | 11:41 pm
Andrew doesn't do surveys. So we're pretending this is something entirely different. Questions I know the answers to I don't need to ask, right?
JANUARY
1. Who kissed you on new years? No one. Ever. This was my first time attending a New Year's party, actually (excluding First Night Erie).
2. Did you have a new year's resolution this year? Don't really remember, but I made a Thanksgiving Resolution this year.
3. Does it snow where you live? It used to.
4. Do you like hot chocolate? Yes. Very much yes. With candy canes.
5. Have you ever been to Times Square to watch the ball drop? No. Though it might be neat to be in the ABC truck to watch the producer run the show.
FEBRUARY
1. Who was your Valentine? "We are a fierce and dirty band of cut-throat pirates! Keep a sharp lookout matey, we dont want any sissy girls on our ship!"
2. When you were little, did you buy valentines for your whole class? Yep. I'm sure they had great cartoon characters on them too.
3. Do you care if the groundhog sees its shadow or not? I did until Dan Kubacki ruined it.
MARCH
1. Are you Irish? Nope.
2. Do you wear green on St. Patty's Day? Not this year. Maybe next year.
3. What did you do for St. Patty's Day in 2006? Went to the IVCF St. Pat's Party.
4. Are you happy when winter is pretty much over? No, Winter's my favorite!
APRIL
1. Do you like the rain? Yes!
2. Did you play an april fools joke on someone this year? Does it count if it's done in December?
3. Do you get tons of candy on Easter? Not nearly enough.
4. Do you celebrate 4/20? No; This was the first year I learned that some people actually do.
5. Do you love the month of April? April has yet to make my heart fall into my stomach and splash my innards causing all the moisture to make me sweat profusely causing shorts to the circuits of my brain causing me to get all woozy and my brain to burn out altogether causing my mouth to disengage and me to babble like a cretin. So, no.
MAY
1. What is your favorite flower? I'm not quite sure. Tulips look nice. My cats like to eat baby's breath.
2. What's significant about this month? It's the only month with a three-letter name.
3. Do you like the spring? It's my least favorite season, but it's working hard to impress me.
4. Finish the phrase "April showers": bring May flowers. Molly says so.
5. What is the first color you think of when you think of Spring? Green. Pale blue. That desktop you get when you first install WindowsXP.
JUNE
1. What year did/will you graduate from high school? 2003.
2. Did you do anything fun during this month? Yes.
JULY
1. What did you do on the Fourth of July? Watched fireworks at Mercyhurst.
2. Did you go on any vacations during this month? Mysterium 2006 in Spokane, Washington.
3. Do you blast the A/C all day? Nope.
AUGUST
1. Did you do anything special at the end of your summer? Yes. But not special enough to make me remember it now. In general, hanging out with the dorm kids and random trips to the beach.
2. What was your favorite summer memory of '06? Summer of 2006.
3. Did you have a sunburn? Nope.
4. Did you go to the beach a lot? More than I have in years past. Who knows if I'll ever get good at volleyball?
SEPTEMBER
1. Did you attend school/college in '06? Yes.
2. Who is your favorite teacher? Aaron Wood.
3. Do you like fall better then summer? Yes. Leaves, colors, briskness.
OCTOBER
1. What was your favorite Halloween costume? Nothing extraordinary this year. Spain probably had better costumes.
2. What is your favorite candy? Jolly Ranchers or Life Savers. Runners up: Skittles, Starbursts, Candy Canes, Candy Corn, Milky Ways. Honorable Mention: M&Ms for melting in my hand once.
3. What did you dress up as this year? First year that I didn't (as far as I can remember). I blame College.
NOVEMBER
1. Whose house do you go to for Thanksgiving? Dan Kubacki's (earlier in the year), then Hamot Hospital on Thanksgiving.
2. Do you love stuffing? Yes. But Hamot's stuffing has the consistency of soup. Gross.
3. What are you thankful for? Friends. They make the world of difference.
DECEMBER
1. What is December 1st, 2006? The beginning of the end of the year.
2. Have you ever been kissed under mistletoe? Nope.
3. Get anything special last year? Most likely.
4. What do you want this year? Snow.

Silly
heinrick thinks I MUST write a blog about your 6 weird habits/things as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose the next six people to be tagged and list their names:
1. I randomly quote movies. A lot.
2. I praise movies based on what fonts they use for the opening credits.
3. I like to sing the Birdie Song ("Way up in the sky").
4. I still want to drive a Zamboni.
5. I eat potato chips with ranch dressing.
6. I actually beat Dan Kubacki at Battlemasters.
